Deep Space -To the Moon and Beyond-

Explore the Edge: The Latest in Space Technology, All in One Place

This exhibition showcases the latest advancements in space exploration, featuring highlights such as a full-scale model of a manned lunar spacecraft and an immersive Mars tour on a massive screen.

More than 50 years after the Apollo missions, humanity is now closer than ever to returning astronauts to the Moon and embarking on crewed missions to Mars. Supported by leading experts in Japan—including JAXA, the National Astronomical Observatory, and the University of Tokyo—this exhibit presents complex space research in a way that is easy for children and adults alike to understand.

Featured Highlights

Next-Generation Lunar Spacecraft
See the world’s first public display of the latest manned lunar spacecraft model, designed for astronauts to live inside without wearing spacesuits.

Japanese H3 Rocket Model
View a detailed model of Japan’s H3 rocket, complete with a protective fairing designed to reduce wind resistance and frictional heat during launch.

Rare Space Samples
Discover actual particles collected from space, including samples retrieved by Hayabusa, the asteroid explorer, and those from the MMX (Martian Moons eXploration) project, which aims to bring back material from Phobos, one of Mars’ moons.

Cutting-Edge Space Research & Business
Explore the latest developments in satellites, rockets, and new ventures shaping the future of space industries.

Immersive Mars Experience
Take a breathtaking virtual journey across the Martian surface using high-resolution imagery based on the latest research data. In this area, visitors can also touch real rocket components, including insulation and fairings.

Deep Space Wonders
Experience awe-inspiring cosmic phenomena, from the search for Earth-like planets to the dramatic deaths of stars, spectacular supernova explosions, black holes devouring matter, and galaxy collisions—all presented on an expansive panoramic screen.
